DHAKA, July 23, 2025 (BSS) - A court here today acquitted BNP Joint Secretary General Shahid Uddin Chowdhury Annie in a graft case filed by the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC), as the prosecution failed to prove the charges brought against him.

Judge Md Zakaria Hossain of Dhaka Special Judge Court-6 delivered the verdict, court clerk Zahidur Rahman confirmed to BSS.

The judgment came after both the prosecution and defence concluded their arguments on July 16.

The court framed charges against Annie on May 24, 2016, and heard testimonies from nine prosecution witnesses during the trial.
