DHAKA, July 23, 2025 (BSS) - Police on Tuesday arrested two members of the banned student organization Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) from the capital's Gulistan area with two crude bombs.

The arrested have been identified as Md. Mehedi Hasan Fahim (30) and Md. Arifur Rahman Raja (30).

A team from Paltan Model Police Station arrested the duo with two unexploded crude bombs in a raid in Gulistan area around 9:35 pm on Tuesday, said a police press release.

Police said the detainees have initially confessed that they were involved in throwing crude bombs at various places in Dhaka including Gulistan at the orders of senior leaders of the Chhatra League. A regular case has been filed against them at Paltan Model Police Station under Section 5/6 of the Explosives Act.
