Youth killed after truck hits bicycle in Gulistan

DHAKA, July 27, 2025 (BSS) -A young man riding a bicycle was killed after 
being hit by a truck in the capital's Gulistan area on Saturday night. 
 
The victim was identified as Prant Pal, 16, a jhalmuri (puffed rice) seller, 
son of Ujjal Pal, hailed from Gonakarkathi village of Ashashuni police 
station in Satkhira district.
 
The accident occurred around 10 pm on Saturday when a truck hit him behind 
while he was riding a bicycle at Bangabhaban Intersection in Gulistan under 
Paltan Police Station. 
 
He fell on the road and was seriously injured.
 
He was rushed to the emergency unit of Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH), 
where the doctor on duty declared the young man dead.
 
Inspector in-charge of DMCH Police Camp Mohammad Faruk confirmed BSS of the 
matter. 
 
An unnatural death (UD) case was filed with Paltan Police Station in this 
connection.
