BAF pays tribute to jet crash victim Mahtab

CUMILLA, July 27, 2025 (BSS) - A Bangladesh Air Force (BAF) delegation today paid their respects to Milestone School and College student Mahtab Rahman Bhuiyan, who succumbed to his burn wounds three days after the jet crash, visiting his grave.

Wing Commander Md Atik Hasan led the delegation and paid military honour Mahtab’s grave on air chief’s behalf at Chulash Bhuiyan village of Rajamehar Union at Debidwar Upazila here.

The BAF delegation offered prayers at the grave and placed wreaths there.

They met Mahtab’s family and conveyed deep sympathy to the bereaved family members and sought early recovered of the injured.

Talking to reports Wing Commander Hasan said that on behalf of the Bangladesh Air Force and the Chief of Air Staff, they paid tribute at Mahtab's grave.

“We are profoundly saddened by this tragedy. The entire nation is united in prayers for the families seeking eternal blessings so they could overcome this grief,” Hassan said.

He said BAF also pray for the swift recovery of the injured being treated at different facilities.

The officer said investigations into the crash at Milestone School are underway and assured that the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) would update the people once the investigation was completed.

Mahtab succumbed to his injuries on 24 July. He was laid to rest that evening in his family graveyard.
