The deceased were identified as Alamgir Molla, 55, his wife Khushi Begum, 36, his elder brother Jahangir Molla, 65, sister-in-law Beli Begum, 40, and ambulance driver Kawsar Matubbar.

According to relatives, Alamgir Molla had been paralyzed two months earlier but had shown signs of improvement after treatment. His condition suddenly worsened on Sunday morning, prompting the family to rush him by ambulance to Faridpur Diabetes Hospital for urgent medical care.
However, the ambulance never reached its destination. Around 10:00am in the Shankarpasha area of Nagarkanda upazila, the vehicle collided head-on with a BRTC bus, resulting in a devastating impact that killed all five occupants on the spot.
The bodies were later taken to Balia village in Madaripur Sadar upazila around 4:00pm, where scenes of grief unfolded. Family members and villagers broke down in tears, while many were seen fainting in shock.
The father of the deceased, Haji Wahed Ali Molla, mourned the loss of his two sons and two daughters-in-law, saying the family had set out to seek medical treatment but instead returned with tragedy.
Madaripur Deputy Commissioner Marjina Akhter described the incident as "deeply tragic and heartbreaking," extending condolences to the bereaved family and assuring that the administration would support the victims' relatives and investigate the cause of the accident.
Bhanga Highway Police Station Officer-in-Charge Mohammad Helaluddin said police reached the scene immediately after the incident and conducted rescue operations. Legal procedures are underway, he added.
