PATUAKHALI, May 29, 2026 (BSS) - Tourist arrivals have started increasing in Kuakata, one of the country’s leading tourist destinations, after the holy Eid-ul-Azha festival.

Since Friday morning, a growing number of visitors have been seen at different points along the beach of Kuakata.

Although Kuakata usually experiences a heavy influx of tourists from the afternoon of the Eid day, this year the initial turnout was comparatively lower. However, the festive atmosphere began returning to the tourist town from Friday morning as visitor numbers gradually increased.

Tourists were seen enjoying the waves at the beach’s Zero Point area. Many walked hand in hand with their loved ones from one end of the beach to the other, while others relaxed on benches, experiencing the scenic natural beauty. Children were also spotted playing in the sand.

Apart from Zero Point, visitor crowds have also been increasing gradually at other tourist attractions in Kuakata, including Lebur Char, Jhau Forest and Gangamati.

Hotel and motel owners said that although the current number of tourists remains relatively low, a large influx of visitors is expected from the evening onward.

Meanwhile, members of law enforcement agencies remain on high alert to ensure the safety and security of tourists during the holiday period.
