DHAKA, July 27, 2026 (BSS) – The Bangladesh Centre for Air and Space Power Studies (BCASPS) of the Bangladesh Air Force (BAF) today hosted a national seminar titled "Charting the Sky for National Security: Bangladesh in the Evolving Geopolitical Era" at the BCASPS building at BAF Base Bashar in Dhaka Cantonment.

Prime Minister's Adviser on Finance and Planning Professor Dr Rashed Al Mahmud Titumir attended the seminar as the chief guest, while Chief of Air Staff Air Chief Marshal Hasan Mahmood Khan was present as the special guest, said an ISPR release this evening.

In his keynote address, Prof Titumir highlighted the importance of research on national security and air power in the evolving geopolitical landscape.

He lauded BCASPS for its initiatives and assured continued government support for scientific research and innovation.

Speaking on the occasion, Air Chief Marshal Hasan Mahmood Khan stressed the importance of developing a modern air power capability aligned with Bangladesh's national security and development aspirations.

The Assistant Chief of Air Staff (Operations) delivered the vote of thanks.
The seminar featured presentations by eminent speakers on national security, global geopolitics and air sovereignty. 

Professor Rashed Uz Zaman presented a paper titled "Thinking of Air Space in a Wolf World". 
Air Vice Marshal Md Asadul Karim, Commandant of Training and Doctrine Command, presented "Air Power in the Context of National Security of Bangladesh", while Air Commodore Mohammad Mushtakur Rahman (LPR) delivered a presentation on "The Strategy of Air Space", the ISPR mentioned.

The event concluded with an open discussion in which security and diplomacy experts exchanged views on Bangladesh's sovereignty, national security and the changing geopolitical environment.

Former BAF chiefs, along with senior military and civilian officials, attended the seminar.

BCASPS was inaugurated by the Chief of Air Staff on January 18 this year. 

The centre completed its registration on June 22, while its new building was inaugurated on July 20.
