DHAKA, Aug 2, 2026 (BSS) - The Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy will hold a commemorative meeting and honouring ceremony tomorrow with the participation of the families of those martyred and injured during the July Mass Uprising of 2024.

The programme is being organised by the academy under the patronage of the Ministry of Cultural Affairs.

According to Shilpakala Academy sources, the event will begin at 6:30 pm tomorrow at the National Music and Dance Centre auditorium.

Cultural Affairs Minister Nitai Roy Chowdhury will attend the function as the chief guest.

State Minister for Cultural Affairs Ali Newaz Mahmood Khyom and the Prime Minister's Adviser on Information and Broadcasting and the Ministry of Cultural Affairs Dr Zahed Ur Rahman will attend as special guests.

Cultural Affairs Secretary Kaniz Mowla will preside over the programme, while Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy Director General poet Rezauddin Stalin will deliver the welcome address. 

Academy Secretary Mohammad Zakir Hossain will offer the vote of thanks.
