JASHORE, Aug 19, 2026 (BSS) - Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) today arrested a man with three gold bars weighing 397.87 grams during an operation at Putkhali border in Sharsha upazila of the district, a BGB press release said.

A patrol team led by Subedar Md Salimulllah Munshi of Khulna Battalion (BGB-21) conducted the drive around 3.00am in Daulatpur Balur Math Post area and arrested Md Sujon Hossain, 44, son of Md Rafiqul Islam of Putkhali village, along with his motorcycle.

Later, three gold bars were recovered from different parts of his body.

A case was filed in connection with the incident, and the arrested man was handed over to Benapole Port Police Station. The seized gold bars are being processed for deposit at the Jashore Treasury, the release added.
