DHAKA, Aug 25, 2026 (BSS) - Police arrested a suspected drug dealer with 2,500 yaba tablets from South Pirerbagh in the Mirpur area.

According to a DMP press release, police signalled a suspicious motorcyclist to stop, but the motorcyclist ignored the signal and attempted to flee on Monday night. Police later chased and arrested Md Kamran alias Reza, 30.

Police also searched him and recovered 2,500 yaba tablets from his possession, the DMP release said.

Police also seized the motorcycle, which was allegedly used to transport the drugs.

During preliminary interrogation, Reza reportedly confessed to being involved in illegal drug trading.

Legal action was taken against the arrestee, the DMP said.
