DHAKA, March 4, 2024 (BSS)- After a thumping victory over Nepal, Bangladesh U-16 women’s national football team is looking forward to continue their winning run as they face mighty India in their second match of the SAFF U-16 Women’s Championship scheduled to be held tomorrow (Tuesday) at ANFA Complex in Kathmandu, Nepal.
The match kicks off at 3.15 pm (BST).
“The match against India is very important for us because we’ll be able to understand our team’s condition through this match as India is a strong opponent,” said Saiful Bari Titu during the team’s practice session held at the match venue today (Monday).
Titu said another thing is we’ll be able to understand the weak and strong points of India team and at the same time we’ll also rectify our mistakes in this match.
“Actually I am taking the match interestingly because if we think, we’ll play the final of the championship, this match against India can be a dress rehearsal for us,” said the Bangladesh’s head coach.
Team manager Amirul Islam Babu said definitely the girls are going to play a tough game because India is a very strong side.
Babu said girls are very much elated by their U-19 women’s team who won the SAFF U-19 Championship crown recently at home. The team is also in a good shape after the first match victory against host Nepal and he hoped that his girls would get ample support from local crowds during the India match.
Bangladesh earlier blanked Nepal by 2-0 goals while India thrashed Bhutan by 7-0 goals, in both their respective opening matches of the tournament.
