WBC, WBA belt fight to be held tomorrow 

DHAKA, March 7, 2024 (BSS)-Bangladesh Professional Boxing Association has organised WBC and WBA belt fight which will be held tomorrow (Friday) at Hotel La Meridien in the city. 

Abdul Motalib takes on Mohammad Azahar in a WBA South Asia lightweight title fight which will be held for the first time in the capital.

In addition, Sabiul Islam of Bangladesh will face Shubham Yadav of India in the WBC Youth International Super Fly title on the same day. 

However, the most interesting technical bout will be held between Bangladeshi-born British heavyweight boxer Shah Kamali and Poland's boxer Marcin Lazarez. 

Apart from this, the women and men boxers of Bangladesh will participate in eight more weight class bouts.

Bangladesh Professional Boxing Society's chairman Mohammad Asaduzzaman presided over the face-show (two opponents face to face) ceremony after weighing the boxers today (Thursday) morning.
 
Jewel Chowdhury, chief executive officer of England-based securities agency J-Four, Sheikh Kudrat Joy, leader of Sylhet Sunrisers and organizer Mohammad Talha Mohsen were also present in the ceremony.

In addition, four-time British heavyweight champion Julius Francis, has already come to Bangladesh to promote professional boxing. Julius fought legendary boxer Mike Tyson in a world championship title fight.

Meanwhile, on the occasion of International Women's Day, some outstanding women athletes and organizers of the country will be honored for their outstanding contribution. 

For the first time in the country, T-Sports will telecast the greatest event live.
