Mohammedan go goal feast as Diabate slams hat-trick

DHAKA, Apr 20, 2024 (BSS)- Malian forward Souleymane Diabate slammed a brilliant hat-trick as Mohammedan thrashed Brothers union Club by  8-0 goals in the ABG Bashundhara Bangladesh Premier League football held at Rafiq Uddin Bhuiyan Stadium in Mymensingh  on Saturday.

Apart from Diabate’s hat-trick with five goals, midfielder Shahriar Emon supported him with a lone goal for Mohammedan who led the first half by 3-0 goals.

Emon opened an account scoring the first goal for Mohammedan in the 34th minute while Diabate doubled the lead scoring the second goal for Mohammedan in the 43rd minute of the match.

The Malian forward Diabate further widened margin scoring his second and third goal for Mohammedan in the 45+2nd minute and he completed his hat-trick scoring the fourth goal for Mohammedan in the 68th minute of the match.

Diabate opened the floodgate scoring his fourth and fifth goal for Mohammedan in the 72nd minute while Mohammed Jwel Mia made the score line 6-0 for Mohammedan in the 75th minute of the match.

Nigerian defender Emmanuel Tony Agbaji scored the seventh goal for Mohammedan in the 87th minute while Diabate completed the tally scoring his fifth and eighth goal for Mohammedan in the 89th minute of the match.  
Mohammedan completely dominate the entire proceeding and notched their deserving victory on the day, while Brothers Union Club were totally off-colored as failed to create any real scoring opportunity  during the proceeding.

With the day’s win, the traditional black and white Motijheel outfit Mohammedan, who stands second position in the league table, bagged 26 points from 12 matches while the all-orange Gopibagh outfit Brothers Union Club, who remained bottom of the league table with their previous collection of three points playing the same number of outings.

Earlier, in the first leg, Mohammedan beat Brothers Union Club by 5-1 goals held at Rajshahi district Stadium in Rajshahi.
