PARIS, Aug 11, 2024 (BSS/AFP) - Sifan Hassan of the Netherlands won Olympic women's marathon gold in Paris on Sunday in a thrilling sprint finish.

Hassan, who also won 5,000m and 10,000m bronze medals at the Paris Games, set an Olympic record of 2hr 22min 55sec, with Ethiopian Tigst Assefa taking silver in 2:22.58 and Kenya's Hellen Obiri claiming bronze (2:23.10).
