Two milestones beckon Mushfiqur Rahim

DHAKA, Aug 29, 2024 (BSS) - Dependable batter Mushfiqur Rahim is on the brink of two more milestones as Bangladesh will face off Pakistan for the series-deciding second cricket Test at Rawalpindi tomorrow (Friday).

Mushfiqur missed out his fourth Test double century in the first match but his 191 was key in Bangladesh's landmark 10-wicket victory against Pakistan.

His epic knock also helped him achieve his career-best rating points in the ICC Test batters rankings.

If he can continue his rich vein of form, he can be the first Bangladeshi batter to score 6000 runs in Test cricket. To achieve this milestone, he needs 133 runs.

To go past Tamim Iqbal as the highest scorer for Bangladesh in all three formats of cricket, Mushfiqur needs 34 runs. During his 191, he entered into the 15000 runs club in the International cricket as the second Bangladeshi batter after Tamim Iqbal.

The opener who has been away from the cricket currently has 15,192 under his belt, while Mushfiqur has 15159 after 191 in the first Test.
