Bangladesh face India tomorrow in SAFF Championship

DHAKA, Oct 22, 2024 (BSS)- Bangladesh women’s football team take on India in their second and final group A match of SAFF Women’s Championship scheduled to be held tomorrow (Wednesday) at Dasharath Rangasala Stadium in Kathmandu Nepal.

The match kicks off at 5.45 pm (BST).

A win for Bangladesh will see them as group champions. However, if the match ends in a draw, Bangladesh will finish as the group runners-up with four points. 

Bangladesh, in their first group match, came from behind and forced Pakistan to play a 1-1 goal draw, because of Shamsunnahar Juniors goal in the dying moment of the match.

Bangladesh will not want to lose this match, rather the Sabina and Co. is optimistic about winning the match against India and eyeing to finish as group champions.

On the other hand, the five-time champions India, who already confirmed their spot of semifinals with a 5-2 win over Pakistan in their tournament opening match, is also eyeing to shift to the group top.

Pakistan also have chance to qualify for the semifinals, if Bangladesh loses the match with India. In this case, the goal margin will be calculated. 
  
The top two teams from each group will advance to the semifinals to be held on October 27 while the final is slated for October 30.

All the matches will be held at Dasharath Rangasala Stadium.
