DHAKA, Nov 24, 2024 (BSS) -Experienced batter Mominul Haque led the charge by batting resolutely as Bangladesh reached 105-3 at lunch on Day 3 of the first cricket Test against West Indies at Sir Vivian Richards Stadium in Antigua today.
Resuming the day on 40-2, Bangladesh lost only Shahadat Hossain Dipu in this session.
At the first interval of the day, Mominul was batting on 38 from 98 balls with Liton Das on 21. Bangladesh are now trailing by 345 runs.
Earlier, On Day 2, West Indies declared the first innings at 450-9 after Justin Greaves hit his maiden century.
Shahadat and Mominul demonstrated a huge patience to keep them unscathed in the first hour of the morning session when the West Indies pacers moved the ball admirably.
Fast bowler Kemar Roach got the reward of his good bowling throughout the first hour finally when he broke the defense of Shahadat who got an outside edge to be dismissed for 18, adding just eight runs to his overnight total.
Shahadat’s dismissal brought an end to the 45-run partnership between him and Mominul.
Liton joined Mominul and looked desperate to pace the innings. He survived some close call to keep him unbeaten, going into the lunch.
