BOA to celebrate Olympic Day Tuesday

DHAKA, June 21, 2025 (BSS)- The Bangladesh Olympic Association (BOA) will celebrate Olympic Day 2025 on Tuesday (June 24) as part of the global programme of International Olympic Committee (IOC) to popularise its movement.

The BOA will celebrate the "Olympic Day" in the capital and seven other divisions across the country in a benefiting manner with the slogan: "Let's Move", said a press release.

Olympic Day is celebrated worldwide on June 23 every year to mark the founding anniversary of the International Olympic Committee.

In order to celebrate the Olympic Day, the BOA will organise a grand rally which will begin from Bangladesh Shishu Academy at 6.30 am and terminate at National Stadium gate no 1 after passing through Education Bhaban, Bangladesh Secretariat, Zero Points and GPO.

Chief of Army Staff and BOA president General Waker-Uz-Zaman is expected to present in the rally as the chief guest.

More than 2,000 sports enthusiasts from various military and civilian organizations, including various national-level athletes, coaches, organizers, officials from the Ministry of Youth and Sports, officials from the National Sports Council, and others will participate in the rally.

In addition to the International Olympic Committee as the sponsor of the event, Square Food and Beverage Limited and Shelltech Private Limited will provide financial support to the BOA.

After the rally, Bangladesh Army's orchestra team will perform a cultural programme. T-shirt and certificates will be provided for all participating in the rally.
