RAJSHAHI, June 22, 2025 (BSS) - President of Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) Aminul Islam Bulbul has said the premier league is going to be held in the zone soon.

"Cricket training will be enhanced here. We want to expand cricket more through decentralization," he said.

The BCB President revealed this while talking to journalists after inaugurating the under-12 six-a-side cricket competition at Rajshahi Divisional Stadium here today, marking the 25th anniversary of Bangladesh attaining Test status.

Talking about the development of the country's Test cricket, BCB President Bulbul said: "We want to take Test cricket forward. We are seeing it as a launchpad."

Relating to the decentralization process, he said cricket will be expanded everywhere. "We will work intensively so that more potential cricketers come out from here and can get scope in the national team," he added.

Expressing his happiness over witnessing the existing physical infrastructures at Rajshahi Stadium, he said many countries do not have such outfields and wickets.

"If we generate this type of facility throughout the country, improved grounds will be created naturally," Bulbul continued.
