DHAKA, Oct 5, 2025 (BSS) - Veteran cricketer Ziaur Rahman put on a stellar
allround performance as Khulna Division cruised to a 17-run victory over
Dhaka in their sixth game of the NCL T20 tournament at Sylhet International
Cricket Stadium today.
The victory propelled Khulna to nine points from six matches to level with
Chattogram but a poor run rate put them in second spot for the time being.
Ziaur played a cameo, a 7 ball-17 not out and then followed it with 4-28 with
the bowling, which played a vital role in Khulna's victory.
Electing to bat first, Khulna racked up a respectable 186-7 with Afif Hossain
making highest 24 ball-45 and captain Mohammad Mithun adding 41 off 28.
Opener Imranuzzaman chipped-in-with 34 to give the side a solid start. His
fellow opener Soumya Sarkar also made a quickfire 24.
Ziaur gave the finishing touch to make the scoreboard healthy.
Taibur Rahman snapped up 4-42 while Ripon Mondol had figures of 2-15.
Skipper Mahidul Islam Ankon hammered a 36 ball-47 to keep Dhaka on course of
chasing the target but his colleagues undermined his effort by being
dismissed in crucial juncture of the game.
Apart from Ziaur's 4-28, Mrittunjoy Chowdhury bagged 2-28 to scythe down
Dhaka batting line up.
