Two new factories get LEED certification

DHAKA, Jan 25, 2025 (BSS) - Two new factories in Bangladesh have got LEED certification since Bangladesh’s RMG industry remains unwavering in its commitment to sustainable growth amidst the challenges posed by a global economic downturn.

The two factories are - TM Jeans Limited and Azmeri Composite Knit Limited.

This brings the total number of LEED-certified factories in Bangladesh to 235, with 94 Platinum and 127 Gold. 

Talking to BSS, Mohiuddin Rubel, former Director, BGMEA, Additional Managing Director, Denim Expert Ltd, said that the steady growth of LEED certifications reflects the proactive approach to sustainability and responsible manufacturing. 

“Through continued collaboration and unwavering dedication, we are confident that the Bangladesh RMG sector will achieve even greater milestones, solidifying its reputation as a global leader in sustainable and ethical production,” he added.

The details of the two factories are: 

TM Jeans Limited Address: Holding No 41, Ward No 22, Bahadurpur, Gazipur, Bangladesh, 1703 Rating system: LEED BD+C: New Construction v4 - LEED v4 Points: 81 Certification level: platinum  

AZMERI COMPOSITE KNIT LTD. Address: 199, Faydabad, Uttarpara, Dokhinkhan, Dhaka, Bangladesh, 1230 Rating system: LEED BD+C: New Construction v4 - LEED v4 Points: 63 Certification level: gold.
