Magura, 17 July 2025 (BSS):A total of Tk 1.56 million in one-time merit scholarships was distributed today among 156 meritorious students from various educational institutions in Magura.
The event, held at the Magura District Auditorium at 10:30 a.m., was funded by the Magura District Council.
Deputy Commissioner Md. Ohidul Islam, the chief guest, handed over scholarship cheques to the students and also distributed fruit-bearing and forest saplings as part of an initiative to promote environmental awareness.
The event was attended by the principal of Magura Hossain Shaheed Suhrawardy College, teachers, students, and guardians from various institutions.
Under the 2024-25 fiscal year, the Magura District Council awarded each of the selected students a one-time scholarship of Tk 10,000. The program concluded with the distribution of saplings to foster environmental consciousness.
