One gets 17 years RI for possessing arms

CHATTOGRAM, Aug 17, 2025 (BSS) - A Chattogram court today sentenced a 
terrorist to 17 years Rigorous Imprisonment (RI) for possessing arms and 
ammunitions five years ago.

The court of 4th additional District and Sessions Judge Serajum Munira 
awarded terrorists Mohammad Raju to 17 years imprisonment for possessing arms 
and ammunitions. 

The convicted was Raju, son of Mofiz Hossain, hailing Char Mondal village of 
Ruhita union in Lakshmipur district. He used to live in Afsar Villa in 
Noapara area of Pahartali Police Station in Chattogram city.

According to the prosecution story is in brief that Pahartali thana police 
acting on a tip-off detained terrorist Raju with arms and ammunitions from AK 
Khan area under the police station on August 21, 2023.

Sub-Inspector Sufal Kumar Das of Pahartali Police Station filed an arms case 
in this incident.

After examining a total of seven out of 10, prosecution witnesses, the court 
passed the verdict in presence of the convicted person.
