DHAKA, Aug 17, 2025 (BSS) – Cultural Adviser Mostofa Sarwar Farooki has undergone successful appendix surgery.

"The operation was successfully completed," said physicians following the two-hour procedure, which was carried out this afternoon based on a decision made by the medical board.

The cultural adviser, also filmmaker, is currently under post-operative observation. His family has requested prayers from the nation for his swift recovery.

Earlier, the adviser was receiving treatment at a hospital in Dhaka after falling ill during an official visit to Cox's Bazar  on Saturday . His wife, actress Nusrat Imrose Tisha, confirmed the matter on social media, stating that he became unwell while attending a ministry workshop.
