Huge firearms recovered in Teknaf

DHAKA, Dec 6, 2025 (BSS) - A joint team of the Bangladesh Navy's Special Warfare Diving and Salvage (SWADS) unit and a Navy contingent recovered a large cache of firearms and ammunition during an overnight raid at the house of top-listed criminal 'Lamba Mizan' in Uluchamari Konapara of Hnila Union under Teknaf Upazila in Cox's Bazar.

The operation was conducted as part of the Navy's routine efforts to strengthen national security and maintain law and order. The raid was launched last night based on secret intelligence, said an Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) press release issued this evening,

During the search, the team recovered one foreign pistol, two local pistols, one gun, seven 40mm HE MG-3 grenades, three 40mm HE MG-4 grenades, 43 rounds of ammunition, one pistol magazine, two pistol rounds, 20 blank cartridges and three local sharp weapons.

The seized arms and ammunition have been handed over to the Teknaf Police Station for further legal action, the ISPR added.
