12th 'Bangladesh-US Bilateral Defense Dialogue' begins

DHAKA, Dec 10, 2025 (BSS) - Two-day long 12th 'Bangladesh-US Bilateral 
Defense Dialogue' is being held at the Bangladesh Armed Forces Division (AFD) 
from December 10 to 11, 2025.

In continuation of this dialogue since 2012, the military delegations from 
Bangladesh and the United States of America (USA) are participating in the 
dialogue, said a release of the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) 
Directorate this evening.

The defense dialogue is very important for the mutual military cooperation of 
the two countries. Besides, various issues of military cooperation between 
the two countries will be discussed in this dialogue, it said.

This bilateral talk would enhance two-sided military cooperation in the 
fields of global and regional security, technology, defense equipment, 
disaster management, peacekeeping operations, training, inspections, joint 
exercises and drills and workshops.

From the Bangladesh side, Brigadier General Muhammad Ali Haider Siddiqui, 
Director General of AFD [Operations and Planning Directorate], was present at 
the dialogue while Brigadier General Sarah Roos led the US delegation.

On behalf of Bangladesh, senior officials from various organisations 
including the Armed Forces Division, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Border 
Guard Bangladesh (BGB), Bangladesh Coast Guard (BCG) and others were present 
at the event.

The bilateral defense dialogue will further enhance military cooperation 
between the two countries and strengthen mutual friendship as well, the ISPR 
added.
