NSDA holds workshop on skill development, employment generation in logistics sector

DHAKA, Aug 17, 2025 (BSS) - The National Skills Development Authority (NSDA) held a workshop on ‘Industry Skills Council (ISC) on Skill Development, Industrial Integration and Employment’ with 16 logistics sectors’ representatives here today.

NSDA Executive Chairman (Secretary) Rehana Parveen was the chief guest at the workshop with NSDA Member (Planning and Skill Standards) and Joint Secretary Mina Masud-Uz-Zaman in the chair.

Chairman of Logistics Sector ISC and Chairman of Nitol-Niloy Group Abdul Matlub Ahmad, and ISC Secretary General and Chairman of AHS Venture Limited Group Captain (Retd.) Md. Abul Hossain were present as special guests.

In the discussion, the discussants said it is important to develop skill development, curriculum and apprenticeship programs according to the needs of the logistics sector of the country.

They said If we can develop skilled manpower based on the sector, not only the industry but also the overall economy will be strong.

Chief guest Rehana Parveen in her speech called for strengthening the Industrial Skills Council and making it sustainable and taking forward the activities of ISC with the support of CSR Fund.

Abdul Matlub Ahmad said internship opportunities for NSDA certificate holders will be created in the institutions. He also promised to work together with NSDA to create skilled manpower in the logistics sector.

Senior officials of NSDA, representatives of government and private institutions and logistics sector ISC were present on the occasion.
