“Meet Bangladesh Exposition” to be held on April 24-25

DHAKA, April 22, 2025 (BSS) - The two-day “Meet Bangladesh Exposition” to showcase Bangladesh's potential export sectors, Medical and Personal Protective Equipment (MPPE), leather and leather goods, footwear, plastics, and light engineering, will be held in the capital on April 24-25, 2025.

As part of the EC4J Project (Export Competitiveness for Jobs), the Ministry of Commerce and the World Bank will jointly organize the event at the International Convention City Bashundhara (ICCB), Dhaka.

Commerce, Textiles and Jute, Civil Aviation and Tourism Adviser Sk. Bashir Uddin is scheduled to inaugurate the event as the chief guest on April 24, said a Commerce Ministry official.

Commerce Secretary Mahbubur Rahman, Senior Operations Officer and Acting Country Director of the World Bank Suhail Qasim, Bangladesh Plastic Goods Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BPGMEA) president Shamim Ahmed will speak as special guests on the occasion to be presided over by EC4J Project Director (Additional Secretary) M Abdur Rahim Khan. EC4J deputy project director and Joint Secretary Sheikh Mohammad Abdur Rahman will give the address of welcome.  

The exposition, aimed at positioning Bangladesh as a preferred sourcing destination for global markets, will start at 10 am and continue till 7 pm each day.

The official said the expo will host more than 120 companies, more than 25 foreign buyers and international sourcing agents from Singapore, Libya, Colombia, Algeria, India, Malaysia, Bhutan and other countries, and over 1000 local buyers.

The two-day expo will provide a unique platform for Bangladeshi manufacturers showcasing their products to connect global buyers, investors and industry leaders.
