Humayun, Akik elected President, GS of BADC Krishibid Samity

DHAKA, Oct 07, 2025 (BSS) - Krishibid Md. Humayun Kabir and Krishibid Dr. Md. Akikul Islam Akik have been elected President and General Secretary respectively of Bangladesh Agricultural Development Corporation (BADC) Krishibid Samity for the years 2026-’27.

The election was held at the five polling centres-Dhaka, Mymensing, Rajshahi, Rangpur and Jassore- from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm on Saturday (October 4) in a peaceful and cordial manner, said a press release here today.

A total of 62 candidates from two separate panels contested the polls against 29 posts in which Humayun and Akik panel won 19 posts including President and General Secretary. 

The winning panel especially the President and the General Secretary secured the positions with huge margin compared to their rival candidates.

A total of 300 voters including Assistant Director, Senior Assistant Director, Deputy Director, Joint director, Additional General Manager and General Manager of BADC have cast their votes to elect the next leadership of the Samity.

After announcement of the results, the newly elected President thanks all the voters to come over the polling centres and cast their votes in favour of their chosen candidates. 

He also sought cooperation from the voters so that the newly elected committee could run the organization effectively for the welfare of its members.
