DHAKA, Sept 18, 2025 (BSS) - Bangladesh is actively participating in the 21st Malaysia International Halal Showcase (MIHAS), recognized as the world's largest halal showcase, being held from September 17 to 20 at the Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Center (MITEC) in Kuala Lumpur.

The Bangladeshi delegation's participation has been organized and managed by the Export Promotion Bureau (EPB), with coordination from the Bangladesh High Commission in Kuala Lumpur, said a press release.

The showcase features eight Bangladeshi industrial enterprises and the Bangladesh-Malaysia Chamber of Commerce and Industries (BMCCI).

The Bangladesh Pavilion was officially inaugurated on Wednesday by Baby Rani Karmakar, Director General-1 of the EPB, and Shahanara Monica, Acting High Commissioner of Bangladesh.

Following the inauguration, they held separate meetings with key Malaysian figures, including Hairul Arifin Sahari, Chief Executive Officer of Halal Development Corporation (HDC), and S. Jayashankar, Senior Director of Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation (MATRADE).

During these discussions, the Bangladeshi officials extended invitations to their Malaysian counterparts to participate in the Global Sourcing Expo 2025, which is scheduled to take place in Bangladesh from December 1-3.

Speaking to journalists present at the event, EPB Director General-1 Karmakar highlighted that the EPB is actively working to expand the market for Bangladeshi products in Malaysia and the broader ASEAN region.

She also emphasized the bureau's continued commitment to fostering greater participation of Bangladeshi companies in similar future exhibitions.
