105.4pc growth of remittance inflow till Jan 4

DHAKA, Jan 5, 2026 (BSS) - Inflow of remittances witnessed a year-on-year growth of 104.5 percent reaching US$466 million in the first four days of January, according to the latest data of Bangladesh Bank (BB) issued today.

Last year, during the same period, the country's remittance inflow was $227 million.

During the July to Jan 04, 2026 of the current fiscal year, expatriates sent remittances of $16,731 million, which was $14,003 million during the same period of the previous fiscal year.
