DHAKA, July 22, 2026 (BSS) – Bangladesh received US$2.095 billion in workers' remittances during the first 21 days of July, the opening month of the 2026-27 fiscal year, marking a 23.5 percent increase compared with the corresponding period of the previous year.

According to the latest data from Bangladesh Bank, expatriate Bangladeshis sent home US$2.095 billion between July 1 and July 21, 2026, up from US$1.696 billion received during the same period in July 2025.

On July 21 alone, inward remittances amounted to US$78 million, reflecting the continued strong flow of earnings from Bangladeshis working abroad.

The steady growth in remittance inflows is expected to strengthen the country's foreign exchange reserves, support external sector stability, and contribute to the overall economy during the early part of the current fiscal year.

Bangladesh Bank has attributed the sustained momentum in remittance inflows to various policy initiatives aimed at encouraging expatriates to use formal banking channels, alongside continued strong participation by overseas Bangladeshis in supporting the national economy.
