JAMALPUR, March 7, 2024 (BSS) - Historic  March 7 was observed in the district in a befitting manner today.

The day's programs included placing floral wreaths at the portrait of Bangabandhu, painting competitions for students, speech broadcasting of Bangabandhu, discussions, and cultural functions.

In the morning, the district administration placed a wreath at the portrait of Bangabandhu on the Zila Parishad premises. 

Representatives from Zila Parishad, the police administration, Jamalpur municipality, the Awami League, the civil surgeon office, cultural organizations, and various government offices paid deep tributes to Bangabandhu. 

 Leaders and workers of the Awami League, led by Acting President of District AL, Faruk Ahammed Chowdhury, placed wreaths at the portrait of the father of the nation on its party office premises in the Bakultola area.

A discussion meeting was also held with the Vice President of District AL Syed Atiqur Rahman Sana in the chair. 

Acting President of District AL Faruk Ahammed Chowdhury, its General Secretary Bijan Kumar Chanda, vice president Ashraf Hossain Tarafdar, President of Jamalpur Town AL Masum Reza Rahim, and its General Secretary, Md Sanowar Hossain Sanu, among others, spoke at the meeting.
