PIROJPUR, March 18, 2024 (BSS) - Two motorcyclists were killed and two others injured in a head-on collision between two motorcycles on the Pirojpur-Parerhat road in Zonzonia area under Sadar upazila here today. 

The deceased were identified as Md Masum Billah, 52, son of Nur Mohammad, resident of Kathalia upazila of Jhalakathi district and Md Hasib Sheikh,25, son of Malek Sheikh, resident of Umedpur village under Indurkani upazila of Pirojpur district. 

The accident occurred in the area when Masum Billah was going to Parerhat from Pirojpur riding on a motorcycle, on the way it collided head-on with another motorcycle coming from the opposite direction at around 9:30am, leaving four people seriously injured, officer-in-charge (OC) of Pirojpur Sadar Police Md Ashikuzzaman said.

Locals rescued the injured and took them to Pirojpur District Hospital, where on-duty doctor declared two of them dead, he said.

The two injured have been sent to Khulna Medical College and Hospital for better treatment, OC said.
