SUNAMGANJ, April 6, 2024 (BSS) - An elderly woman and her granddaughter were killed as a truck hit their motorcycle on Dirai-Sunamganj Road last night.

The deceased were identified as Samsunnahar Begum, 80, her granddaughter Jannat, 12, both hailed from Tolbausi village at Derai upazila.
 
Locals said the accident occurred around 10pm last night in Gagli area on the road, leaving Samsunnahar and Jannat dead on the spot and two others injured seriously.

The injured people including the driver of the motorcycle were sent to MAG Osmani Medical College Hospital for treatment.

Officer-in Charge of Shantiganj Thana Kazi Moktadir Hossain said they detained the truck.
