NARAIL, May 11, 2024 (BSS) - A former chairman of Mallikpur Union Parishad (UP) was shot dead by unidentified miscreants at Kundoshi area of Lohagara municipality of the district on Friday night.

The deceased was identified as Shikdar Mostafa Kamal, 49, son of Akram Shikhdar of Uttar Mangal Hata village of Narail. He was a former UP chairman and local Awami League leader

Kanchan Kumar, officer-in-charge of Lohagara police station, said Kamal reached Kundoshi area of Lohagara municipality around 8 pm and was shot by miscreants who were hiding in the area.

He succumbed to his injuries on the way to Dhaka Medical College and Hospital around 10.30 pm, the police personnel added.

The body was sent to Narail Modern Sadar Hospital morgue for autopsy.
