GAZIPUR, July 10, 2024 (BSS)- Two  persons were killed in two separate accidents in Tongi and Konabari-Kashimpur area here last night.

The deceased were identified as Saidul Islam,27, son of Barek Hawlader hailed from Amirabad village  of  Baufal upazila  under Patuakhali district and Nur Mohammad,30,son of Jainal Abedin from Sailachapra village of Muktagacha upazila under Mymensingh district.

Tongi Railway Police outpost in-charge Sub-Inspector (SI) Choton Sarma said Saidul Islam died on the spot as he was walking through the middle of Dhaka-Mymensigh railway level crossing in Tongi Dirasram bridge area and hit by  Dewanganj bound Brahmaputra Express left from the  capital at 8.30 pm.

Another victim Nur Mohammad died on the spot  as his motorbike hit by a  cavard van at  Konabari-Kashimpur  regional road at around11.30pm on Tuesday, said Assistant Sub-Inspector Kamaruzzaman of (ASI) Kashimpur Police  Station.

Police detained the cavard van and arrested the driver from the spot .
