RAJSHAHI, Aug 29, 2024 (BSS)- Women and Child Repression Prevention Tribunal has given two persons life imprisonment for raping and killing a girl in Naldanga Upazila of Natore district.

The convicted persons are Babul Islam and Roish Uddin, who were found guilty by the court during the prosecution of the case filed ten years back.

Judge of the tribunal Muhammad Abdur Rahim also fined them Taka one lakh each.  

The tribunal acquitted five other accused persons as charge against them was not proved.

According to the prosecution, the accused persons killed the girl after raping in her home at Khajura Mollapara village under Naldanga Upazila in Natore district on May 6, 2014.

Victim’s father lodged the case with Naldanga Police Station on the following day accusing seven persons. Upon completion of the investigation, police pressed the charge sheet.
