BHOLA, Oct 3, 2024 (BSS) - Joint forces in a drive on Wednesday night arrested five persons and seized a huge amount of drugs from their possession at Bapta union of Sadar upazila here.

The arrestees were Shahid, 45, Shakil, 25, Ripon, 24, Rajib, 22, and Arif, 22.

On a tip-off, the joint forces comprising of Bangladesh Navy, Police and Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) conducted a drive at the den of drug peddler Shahid around 11pm and arrested them, said District Navy Contingent Operation Officer Lieutenant Moftadi-Ul Islam.

The team also recovered 28.5 kg cannabis, 187 bottles of phensidyl, 17 pieces of Yaba, a big chopper and Taka 32,080 in cash from their possession.

Shahid is an identified drug peddler, he said. All the seized drugs, weapons and cash have been handed over to the Sadar Police Station.
