KHULNA, Nov 26, 2024 (BSS) - Khulna City Corporation (KCC) in a day-long drive evicted 12 unauthorized shops built on both roadsides in city's different areas on Monday.

They also fined and realised Tk 79,000 from 12 shop owners.

KCC Magistrate Jannatul Afroz Swarna conducted the seven-hour-long drives from 10.00 am in cooperation with Khulna Metropolitan Police (KMP) and officials of Estate Section of KCC in Station Road, Clay Road, Dakbangla Intersection and Zoragate areas.

Aimed at controlling traffic congestion on the roads and to free footpaths from illegal grabbers, the eviction drives will be continued in the city, said Gazi Salahuddin, Estate Officer of KCC.
