Two held with 3,900 yaba tablets in Ctg

CHATTOGRAM, Dec 31, 2024 (BSS) - The district police, in a drive, arrested 
two alleged drug traders with 3,900 pieces of contraband yaba tablets from 
Baroyarhat area on the Chattogram-Dhaka highway under Mirsari upazila of the 
district in the early hours of today.

The arrested were Microbus driver Ariful Islam, 28, and his assistant Md 
Jaber alias Rana, 26, both hailed from Cox's Bazar district.
 
The police team also detained a microbus which is used for trading the Yaba 
tablets. 

Acting on a tip-off, a team of Zorerganj Thana Police halted a Dhaka-bound 
microbus in the area around 12.30 am and detained Ariful and Jaber with the 
contraband drugs, police sources said.

A case was filed with Zorergonj Thana and the arrested person along with the 
contraband items was sent to the court, the sources added.
