MANIKGANJ, Jan 29, 2025 (BSS) - Manikganj district administration has taken the responsibility of medical college admission of Nandini Sarker, a talented student and daughter of a poor rickshaw puller.

Deputy Commissioner (DC) Dr. Manwar Hossein officially disclosed the matter as he handed over a check for financial assistance to Nandini for her admission expenditures.

Nandini is the daughter of Anil Kumar Sarker, a poor rickshaw puller of Gilanda village under Nabagram union of the district. Nandini recently took part in the admission test and secured 133rd position and got a chance at Dhaka Medical College.

Nandini's dream is to become a doctor and work for welfare of the country. She got a chance to fulfill that dream but it is not possible to meet educational expenses, said Nandini's mother Shima Rani Sarker.

Nandini's father said, "I run a six members family with my auto-rickshaw driving income. I have no capacity to bear the educational cost of my daughter in Medical College. The donation of local administration is a great honour for us".
