PIROJPUR, Jan 29, 2025 (BSS) - A court here today sentenced four persons to
life-term imprisonment for killing a man namely Harun Or Rashid in Nesarabad
upazila of the district in 2006.

Additional District and Sessions Judge Moktar Alam pronounced the verdict
this afternoon in presence of two accused.

The court also fined them Taka 50,000, in default, to suffer six months more
in jail.

The accused are Rafiqul Islam, 55, Jasim Akon, 45, Abdul Jabbar Hiru, 70, and
Khokon Molla, 50.

According to the prosecution, the convicts killed Harun Or Rashid, 35, on the
night of October 26, 2006 and snatched Taka 6,000 from him and left his body
beside a canal in the upazila.

October 27, 2006, police recovered the body.

Mohiuddin Hawlader, UP member of Ward No. 7 of Sarengkathi Union, filed a
murder case as the plaintiff.
