Truck-auto rickshaw collision kills two in Kushtia

KUSHTIA, Jan 31, 2025 (BSS) - At least two people were killed and three others injured when a truck and a CNG-run auto-rickshaw collided in the Ranakharia-Goramara area on the Kushtia-Pabna Highway this morning.

Among the deceased, one was identified as Tania Khatun, 32, daughter of Kalam Master, hailing from Golpnagar under Bheramara upazila.

The accident occurred around 9 am when the auto-rickshaw collided head-on with a stone-laden truck in the Ranakharia-Goramara area, said Syed Al Mamun, officer-in-charge of Kushtia Highway Police Station.

Two people died on the spot and three others sustained injuries. The injured were taken to Kushtia General Hospital.

However, the truck driver managed to flee the scene after the accident.
