MANIKGANJ, Feb 1, 2025 (BSS) – The ferry movement on the Aricha-Kazirhat route in the Jamuna River resumed after 7.30 hours suspension due to dense fog, Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Corporation (BIWTC) Aricha Ghat sources said.

BIWTC Aricha Ghat Manager Md. Abdullah said the ferry movement on the Aricha-Kazirhat river route was suspended at 1.30 am on Saturday due to poor visibility as the dense fog blanketed the river route.

The ferry movement started at 9.00 am today when the dense fog disappeared, BIWTC Manager Md. Abdullah added.

Meanwhile, ferry movement on Paturia-Daulatdia route remained suspended from 12.00 last midnight due to poor visibility caused by heavy fog.  All the ferries are waiting at Paturia and Daulatdia Ghat and one ferry is stuck in the middle of the river.
