3-day medical camp begins in Lakshmipur

LAKSHMIPUR, Feb 2, 2025 (BSS) - A three-day free medical camp for the eye patients of Lakshmipur municipality began today.

Deputy Commissioner Rajib Kumar Sarkar inaugurated the camp at the hall room of Sadar Upazila Parishad this morning.

The municipality has taken the initiative to ensure medical services to about 2,000 extremely poor and helpless people of 15 wards of the municipality.

In the camp, treatments will be provided to more than 500 eye patients on the first day. Along with medical services, free medicines will be provided to them.

Superintendent of Police Md. Akhter Hossain, Deputy Director of the Local Government and Municipal Administrator Md. Jasim Uddin, Sadar Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Jamshed Alam Rana, Sadar Upazila Youth Development Officer Md. Salah Uddin and Municipal Executive Officer Khan Md. Farabi were present at the event, among others.

Deputy Commissioner Rajib Kumar Sarkar said this is a wonderful initiative. Neglected people have been suffering from eye diseases and they are not able to get treatment due to lack of money. The municipality authorities are standing by these neglected people of the society. 

Through this three-day camp, about two thousand patients will get treatments and medicines. He urged the wealthy people of the society to come forward for these social works.
