BGB seizes smuggled goods worth Tk 1.20 crore in Sylhet

SYLHET, July 31, 2025 (BSS) - The Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) today seized a large consignment of smuggled goods worth about Taka 1.20 crore from different border points in Sylhet district.

Acting on a tip-off, BGB personnel conducted drives in the early hours at Sangram, Protappur, Bichanakandi, Tamabil and Damdaia border areas.

The seized items include Indian sarees, sunglasses, cows, basmati rice, aloe vera gel, betel nut, cumin, soap, ginger, raisins, body spray, shampoo, hair oil, face wash, salt, eyeball candy, Nivea soft cream, tea leaves and Nisil powder.

No arrests were made in these connections.
