Goats distributed among 100 minority ethnic families in Natore

NATORE, Dec 8, 2025 (BSS) - The Department of Livestock has distributed 200 goats among 100 families belonging to minority ethnic groups in Singra upazila of the district in an effort to improve their socio-economic conditions.

The distribution programme, held at 12 noon on the Upazila Parishad premises, was organized under the Integrated Livestock Development Project for the Socio-Economic and Quality of Life Improvement of Backward Small Ethnic Groups Living in the Plains. 

The event was arranged by the Upazila Livestock Department and Veterinary Hospital.

Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Abdullah Al Rifat, attending as the chief guest, said the government is committed to ensuring that no community in the country remains lagging behind. 

"Effective steps have been taken to uplift the living standards of all backward communities. Sustainable development will be achieved through balanced development," he added.

Upazila Livestock Officer Tashriful Islam assured that recipients would receive necessary veterinary care and all related services for the goats in the coming days to help ensure successful rearing and long-term benefits.
