NARSINGDI, Dec 10, 2025 (BSS) – Three women were honored with the prestigious ‘Joyita Padak’ for outstanding contributions in different fields of society in the district.

A discussion meeting was held in Shibpur upazila marking Begum Rokeya Day and the International Day for the Prevention of Violence against Women, where three women were honored with the prestigious award.

The programme, organized by the Upazila Administration and the Upazila Women’s Affairs Office, took place at the Upazila Conference Room on Wednesday under the theme, “Let’s unite to stop violence against women and girls, ensure digital security.”

At the event, Rashida Begum, recognized for her economic success; Jahanara Begum, noted for her achievements in education and employment and Chhabikunnahar, honored for her exceptional contributions to social development, were felicitated as “Joyita.” The awardees were presented with crests and certificates of honor by the guests.

Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Farzana Yasmin, presiding over the program, spoke about the ideals of Begum Rokeya and stressed the collective responsibility to prevent violence against women and ensure digital security.

The programme was moderated by Upazila Women’s Affairs Officer Raoshan Gul Firdous and attended by prominent officials including Upazila Assistant Commissioner (Land) Muhammad Abdur Rahim, Officer-in-Charge of Shibpur Police Station Mohammad Kohinur Mia, Upazila Agriculture Officer Mohsina Jannat Toron, Upazila Youth Development Officer Shamim Ahmed, and others.
