BGB seizes smuggled sarees in Kurigram

LALMONIRHAT, Dec 11, 2025 (BSS) - Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) has seized Indian smuggled sarees from Purbo Bhothat area in Bhurungamari upazila of Kurigram district last night.

On a tip-off, a team of BGB raided in the area and seized the sarees (Swarna Katan) worth about Taka 27.20 lakh.

Lieutenant Colonel Mehedi Imam, commander of 15 BGB, said BGB is always ready to reduce cross-border smuggling to zero. Intelligence surveillance and patrol activities have been further strengthened in the border areas, he added.
